Hey Peter, thanks ! Good observation. As many people have pointed out, it sometimes takes an outsider’s perspective to bring something to the spotlights. As a result, some outsiders are mentioned. My German friends play an important role as they both love Greece and see its potential but were also able to fill me in on what’s going on in Germany’s startup scene. As you can see, all the inspiring stuff happening in Greece that I mention links directly to the people behind them. I mention the companies, brands but I could have mentioned the people as well, you’re right. So I just did: a few names of the inspiring Greeks that are making the country buzzable again have been added ! Thanks again. If you know more examples, feel free to add with a comment.

Thanks! Great blog about a community finding its new story. One question: Dutch embassy, Jan Versteeg, Stephan Bayer, Feliks Eyser… Except for Peter Economides I did not find Greek names ;-)… I have some Greek friends with names. Anyway, I’m more than happy to tweet this blog and spread the news.

I feel exactely the same way but could never express and write the way that you did. I am Dutch and live in Athens for 14 years now, got married, have 2 kids, worked in business and now enjoying home time. Athens and Greece is the most special place on earth. I totally agree with our Embassador.

Thi summer a few days with my kids (17/19) in Athens. Must be a swinging city. I am a narratiuve coach/story hunter so I hope to hear (and hare?) more stories om how civilization started and will be rebirthing.

Thanks for writing such an inspiring post, it means a lot for all the Greeks who live the struggle right now. You reminded me of a super hero VC in a conference in Germany which being asked “How we will create a Silicon Valley in Germany” and the guy said “Just bring in the immigrants because you’ll never do it”.

The deal is that necessity is the mother of invention and we have a lot of that. Hope we won’t prove you wrong in your statements here
